Elayne Howard Consulting On Re-branding Of The Greater Philadelphia Health Assembly September 15, 2003
BENSALEM, PA—Elayne Howard, president of Elayne Howard & Associates, Inc., has been asked to consult on the re-branding of the Greater Philadelphia Health Assembly. The Greater Philadelphia Health Assembly (GPHA) is looking to develop a new name that is more inclusive of its growing range of members, something that is especially relevant as it becomes a chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Elayne Howard Provides Insight On Marketing and Technology In June’s Issue Of The Healthcare Marketing Report
BENSALEM, PA—Elayne Howard, president of strategic health care consultants, Elayne Howard & Associates, Inc., lent her experience and insight for an article in the June issue of Healthcare Marketing Report entitled “Marketers Help Resolve Technology Debates.” The article discusses the purchase and use of health care technology and perhaps more importantly, how to market that technology to both patients and providers so that the technology is utilized.
Elayne Howard noted that, “A common problem in the health care field is that organizations purchase technology before planning on how to use it and how to best present it to both providers and patients,” adding that, “it is vital that we present these technologies as something that makes their life easier, not more complicated.”
In the article, Elayne provided value added insight on a number of issues and was quoted heavily on the issue of understanding market dynamics. Elayne believes that one of the key factors to the successful implementation of health care technology is ensuring that the entire process, from purchase through product launch and beyond, is a collaborative process. “Even when the proposal to purchase new technology is initiated elsewhere in the organization,” said Elayne, “marketers should always be asked to participate in the “go or no-go” evaluation required to assess the business prospects of new technology.”
For health care technology to achieve its greatest success, Elayne believes that “the best decisions are made when people are working as a team and calling upon the expertise of the team players.”
